I need to have some type of professional opinion and insight about something that has been on my mind for sometime.
I know a few things about Anabolic Steroids and how they react and function within the body; however, I have been doing some serious thinking as of late regarding a compound (methandrostenolone) that is "c-17 alpha alkylated" and how this particular molecular alteration protects that compound from being deactivated by the liver; thus, permitting more than 90% of the compound to enter the bloodstream. It also allows the drug to remain active within the body for 3-5 hours.
The issue surrounding this is that prolonged exposure to this type of molecular alteration in drugs causes severe trauma to the liver in terms of damage. There is potential for bile duct obstructions and the development of certain types of cancer; however, this is not always the case but can eventuate if the drug is abused.
Thinking in terms of drugs that have long-term effects or remain active in the body, I have pondered the type of molecular alteration that long acting over-the-counter drugs such as "Advil", "Aleve" and "Extra-Strength Tylenol" might have and if they have a similar "c-17 alpha alkylated" alteration to them as well.
