Sometimes when i study physiology of blood, arteries or heart, I find many things that are contradicting. For example, a certain reflex may cause vasoconstriction, while another one may cause vasodilatation. That's just an example. Sometimes, it is more complex than that. These things really put me down in exams cos it makes me really confused.
This is the case throughout the human body and mostly i find is due to a safety mechanism all to do with homeostasis.
There are so many actions that cause server reactions that another reaction has to occour to prevent the initial reaction from damaging the body! Thats what i've found with biochemistry anyway!
A lot of enzymes and reactions have many counteractions purely to stop the body over reacting and damaging itself!
Yes, I agree with you. I've eventually come to realize that after 3 years in medical school. That post was 2 years ago ... I think I've grown more aware of the human body by now...
