Flu shots skew blood tests?
Permalink Closed

I had some blood tests done today for reassurance and peace of mind from any possible heart problems.  The tests I had done are as follows:

-Homocysteine

-Lp(a)

-HS-CRP

-Cholesterol/Triglyc

I had a flu shot yesterday less than 24 hours prior to these tests.  Will the flu shot have any effect at all on these types of blood tests.  I would hate to have the results skewed on such expensive tests.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi ski_guy,

No, a flu shot would not affect such tests.
